Chai

I don't know about you, but I love chai. My sister visited India and brought home this easy-to make recipe. Cheaper and tastier than the store-bought mix.

makes two cups

  • 3/4 cup whole or 2 percent milk
  • 3/4 cup water (you can vary these amounts--such as using 1/2 cup milk and 1 cup water)
  • 2 tsp black tea
  • pinch (or more) of: cardamom, cinnamon, ginger
  • sugar to taste (I don't like my chai super sweet, and use 1 tsp)

Combine in a saucepan. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and let steep for 4 minutes. Use a strainer and pour into cups. Best if drunk within 30 minutes.
