Just before my workshop. I don't know the
name of the woman I'm talking to. |

Giving my talk. Yes, those are cameras on
the side. They taped everything for
Internet TV. |

Translators work to translate my talk into
Italian. |

Happy Hour with Barbara Samuel and her partner,
Neil, and Liz Jennings, who organized and put on
the Women's Fiction Festival. |

Here I am with Barbara Samuel, Shannon McKenna

The Man She'll
Marry is a finalist in the Bookseller's
Best Award in the Short Contemporary Category!!
[4/10/07]
I have written an article on writing a category
miniseries. Please stop by with comments or just a
friendly "hello." Read it at

[4/1/07] My first book in the Halo Island miniseries
has a title! All I Want for Christmas will
be a November 2007 release.
[12/19/06]
I am pleased to announce that I recently sold two more
Harlequin American novels! Both stories take place on
fictitious Halo Island, which is very loosely based on
San Juan and Lopez Islands, which are part of the San
Juan Islands in the Pacific Northwest. More on this
later ...
[7/11/06]
My June release, The Man She'll
Marry, was listed in This Week's Top 10 of the
July 4 e-Harlequin newsletter. Yippee!
[5/29/06] I have been contacted to write a story for
a Harlequin American anthology, to be released in time
for July 4, 2007. Details will follow as soon as I
get them.
Recently eHarlequin interviewed me on how to
get the most out of the upcoming Romance Writers of
America conference. There are great tips for any
writer attending any writers' conference, so please take
a look at

The Man She'll
Marry, the first in a trilogy set in the
fictitious seaside town of Cranberry, Oregon, comes out
mid-June. I will be part of a group booksigning on
Saturday, June 17, at the Redmond Town Center Borders,
along with Mary Buckham and Janice Johnson.
Signing starts at 2:00 p.m. and will last approximately
one hour. Hope to see you there!
Or...if you live anywhere near Bandon, Oregon, I'll
be signing there on July 5 from noon - 2 p.m. at Winter
River Books. The town of Cranberry is loosely
based on Bandon, a town I am very fond of.
[4/10/06] My first women's fiction title now has a
name and a publication date. Another Life,
April 2007, is the story of two families torn apart by
bigamy, and the wives who learn what strength truly is.
[2/28/06] If you're in the Seattle area, come to a
signing Saturday, March 4, at Border's in Redmond Town
Center. I'll be signing with Stella Cameron and
Jayne Ann Krentz from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
[2/1/06] My latest novel, The
Baby Inheritance (Harlequin American #1103, ISBN
0-373-75107-9) is now available. I'll be the
author at the February 8, 2006
NovelTalk Author Chat. Hope to see you there!
[1/1/06]

[11/6/05]
I am thrilled to report two more sales to Harlequin
American. It Happened One Wedding (actual
title) and Mitch Meets His Match (working title)
both take place in the fictional ocean-side town of
Cranberry, Oregon. This is the same town I set my
June 2006 novel, The Man She'll Marry. I am in
love with this little town and look forward to sharing
more stories from it. What fun!
[11/1/05]
My June, 2006 book at last has a title: The Man
She'll Marry. This is the first of three
stories that take place in the fictitious, beach-side
town of Cranberry, Oregon.
[10/1/05]
I am excited to report that eHarlequin has asked me to
write an online story which will be divided into eight
chapters and serialized over eight weeks. The
story will have a tire-in to The Baby Inheritance,
my February 2006 Harlequin American. Same town,
some of the same characters. The first chapter
will be available Monday, January 2, and subsequent
chapters will be posted every Monday through February
20. I'll be honest here--I've never written a
story that small--yikes!! I look forward to the
challenge though. I'll post a reminder about this
the first of next year.
[9/9/05]
I received this cover for my February 2006 release and
just had to share. Are the baby and dog adorable,
or what?! The "Motherhood" label is from a
mini-promotion Harlequin American will do.
Email me and let
me know what you think of it.
[8/28/05] I am pleased to announce that I sold two
women's fiction novels to John Scognamiglio at
Kensington. Okay, more than pleased--truly
psyched!
Even though this is a two-book deal, I've
only figured out one of the plots, and only written
three chapters. So I'll be buckling down, working
hard, and having myself a ball. The story line for
the first book, tentatively titled Betrayal, is
as follows: Two families torn apart by bigamy, and
the wives who learn what strength truly is. I'm
excited to write this and find out what the characters
do and how they grow.
But try to find an attorney who knows about bigamy.
LOL! If anyone out there knows of an attorney from
either CA or WA (or both!) who can help, please email me
at
atroth@comcast.net. Otherwise, I'm going to
resort to cold calls to Family Law firms...and I hate
making cold calls.
Research difficulties aside, I am thrilled to be
writing for two houses, and thrilled to be writing for
more than one genre.
[5/30/05] At last I have the title for my
February, 2006 book--The Baby Inheritance.
I like it and hope it intrigues you and entices you to
read the book!
[4/30/05] I'm thrilled to announce another sale
to Harlequin American, tentatively titled No More
Lonely Nights. The story is set at a fictional
bed and breakfast on the Oregon coast, hopefully the
first of a three-book series (keep those fingers crossed
for me!) I'll keep you informed.
My Harlequin American, temporarily titled, Did You
Say Baby?! will be a February 2006 release.
More news to follow shortly (I hope!). |
