Don’t Worry… Be Happy

I have a friend who never uses her favorite plates or tableware for fear of who knows what? She’s never said. She only wears her good jewelry and the outfit that makes her feel pretty on special occasions. She covers her favorite sofa with a slip cover to keep it nice, and she usually puts herself last.  But hey, life is short! It is often predictable.

My friend deserves to be happy, and so do you. Promise me that you’ll at least think about that…

Until next time,

Act Now!

don't wait

“When xxx happens, then I will be on my way to (insert goal here).”  My first memory of believing this goes way back to when I was 5 years old. I just knew that as soon as I turned 6, I’d have all the answers.

You know how that went…

At the time, I didn’t learn from my misbelief. I lived a big chunk my life waiting for that perfect moment when the stars aligned and fortune smiled at me. You can guess where all that waiting lead–nowhere.

So much time, squandered on hope that events completely out of my control fell into place just for me.

I know I’m not alone here. Admit it, you’ve done the same thing.

This  saying is a great reminder that I can take control of my life and turn any moment into a step toward attaining my goals, however small that step may be.

It’s all about attitude and action. And guess what? It works. With a bonus: I’m a whole happier.

What are you going to do to take action and make this moment count?

Until next time, and wishing you control of your own life,

Ann

Don’t Worry… Be Happy

happy life

So true. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years on this planet, it’s that trying to please others never works. Mainly because I can’t control what other people think or care about.

Making money for money’s sake isn’t the answer, either. Not that I’m against making money. 🙂 But no amount of financial riches will make a person happy, not deep down, where it counts.

What I can control are my own thoughts and pleasing myself. Setting concrete, achievable  goals and taking the necessary steps to get there… As Einstein says in the quote, this is the ticket to a happy life.

Why concrete and achievable? Because pie-in-the-sky goals that are impossible to reach doom us to failure. Sure, it’s good to dream big, and I do! But those concrete goals that can be measured in small steps and that I can eventually reach–they are golden. Bonus: they could even lead toward achieving those big dreams.

Reaching a goal is so satisfying!  But don’t stop there. Once you reach that goal, it’s time to set another. After you reach it, set another.

Food for thought, yes?

Until Wednesday, and wishing you goals that you can achieve,

Ann
